People Have Changed

MAN, PEOPLE CHANGE!

We like to talk about things changing. We seldom realize that only people can change things. It might be good to say people are sure changing things!

In my younger days we had a sure-fire way of dealing with the pet population. When we had too many dogs, cats or other pets, we killed them. We knew nothing of spaying and neutering animals. We were not able to feed a bunch of pets. In fact, it was all we could do to feed ourselves. So those dogs and cats had to go. I don’t know if it was humane or not, but it seemed more important to feed the family rather than pets. Oh no, we looked after the working animals for they helped feed us.

A company opened in Burlington that would buy those unwanted pets for one dollar. They bought them, put them to sleep and prepared them to be dissected by school students. It was a good deal. We got a dollar and they got a specimen.

Today people would put us in jail for doing such a thing. We would be labeled criminals. Society would frown on us.

People have changed. They kill unwanted children, still in the womb or just as the child’s head emerges from the womb. Oh yes, the modern way is to not worry about birth control. We will just kill that worthless baby. It will cost money to feed and clothe. Our lifestyles will have to change. Kill the little rascal.

But wait! That poor animal is more important. You must take care of it. By the way, I have a lovely little dog. She can be aggravating. She is well fed, spoiled rotten, and has given me much joy. I would not kill her and dread the day she dies! But a thousand pretty little or pretty big dogs could not be compared to one child created by God in His image.

Things did not change, people did.

Where are we?

WHERE ARE WE?

Three kinds of atheist:

Professing

Practicing

Possessing

Three kinds of Christians:

Professing

Practicing

Possessing

Definitions:

Professing – Claims to be either atheist or Christian, but it has no real meaning in their life.

Practicing – The atheist lives like there is no God. Becomes aggravated if someone mentions God. The atheist is possessed by an unholy spirit. The Christian lives like there is a God and is content with the trappings of Christianity.

Possessing – The atheist is dedicated to his cause. He hates the idea of God and fights vigorously against those who oppose their views and practices. The possessed Christian is filled with the Holy Spirit, will defend the existence of God and the Word of God and the principles put forth in it; and will be involved in the mission of winning others to Christ.

WHERE ARE WE?

In both atheism and Christianity, the professing and practicing have no real influence. They produce much harangue, but they are unstable and unsuited for the furtherance of their beliefs. The possessing on either side is in the battle to win. They are dedicated, determined and willing to fight to the finish. They are the backbone and muscle of their belief.

SO, WHERE ARE WE?

In the last fifty years the atheists’ belief has become more and more powerful. With each minor victory they become emboldened to take on a larger stronghold. We have witnessed their success. The very foundations of the Christian faith are being bombarded and with little resistance. Prayer is banned in certain places. (Note only Christians). Bible reading is banned in public places. (Note only the Bible). There is abortion at will, and a person’s sex is determined by choice, not their own body. Time does not permit an entire list. The possessed Christian seems to have the idea this is not worth the fight. We bemoan the actions of the atheist and talk about how terrible it is. We, like the men of old, talk about how big the giants are and how small we are. The victory does not seem worth the fight. NOW HERE WE ARE!

Either atheist or Christian, where are you? Professing, Practicing or Possessing???

Our Fault

OUR FAULT

We are bemoaning the most corrupt government the USA has ever experienced. It does not matter if you are Democrat or Republican. You would agree that it is corrupt. Whose fault is it? We can blame many things. Is it issues with those within the government? That must be a part of the problem.

But the real answer lies within Christianity. First, millions of those who call themselves Christian never vote. Then millions of Christians, or at least church goers, will vote for those whose beliefs and principles are absolutely against Christianity. Why would a Christian vote for anyone who espouses abortion on demand? Why would a Christian vote for anyone who believes that God put a man in a woman’s body?

Children and parents

Our brilliant legislators in Washington are adamant that no child should be taken from its parents for a no reason. That sounds wonderful for those kids who have been forced to walk hundreds of miles to get to the border, to enter the United States illegally and who now wants to stay with mom and dad who forced them to walk the distance. They had to sleep on the ground and who knows wat else. Those poor kids can’t be separated from their wonderful parents.

But here in the real world a child can be separated from his parents because the parents dissatisfied them. Maybe they had to work too hard. Heaven forbid they left them alone in the house for an hour by themselves.

The government that stands up for the right of parents to keep their children with them at the border also finances an over-worked department designed for one purpose: to take many American children and put them in foster homes so they (in many cases) can really be abused,
